Remote OLT Commissioning

A new EPON OLT brought up remotely, configured to match your network, and handed over with two ways in — before a single ONU is moved onto it.

What's delivered

• Positive identification — model, serial, MAC and firmware read from the unit itself, not assumed from the box
• Two management paths — in-band on your core bridge, and out-of-band on the AUX port
• Configuration mirrored from your existing OLT — VLANs, PON ports and uplink settings — so a second chassis behaves exactly like the first
• Access hardening — default credentials replaced, management limited to the addresses that need it
• Legacy web interface bridged — for OLTs whose web UI only speaks old TLS, so it still opens in a current browser and from a phone
• Saved and captured — every change written to the startup configuration and a full configuration capture handed over, because on these OLTs an unsaved edit is gone at the next reboot
• Written handover of every address, path and where each credential is kept

What's needed from you

The OLT cabled to a laptop or switch port we can reach over a VPN, and someone on site for a few minutes of cable moves. Nothing else on your network has to change until you choose to migrate subscribers.

Why two paths

An OLT with one management path is one bad VLAN change away from a site visit. The in-band path is always there from your core router; the out-of-band path is still there on the day the in-band one is not.

Typical turnaround: 1–2 working days. Proven on VSOL EPON platforms; other vendors on request.
